  • Bus Changes during Bridge Construction--

Construction begins on the Hudson Street Bridge Monday April 20th, 2015 and no through traffic will be allowed.  Please be advised that Bus 3, 7, 11, 16, and 26 will utilize the State recommended Bypass Road detour for the duration of this project.  In the mornings we expect no change in the high school and middle school pick-up times and a 7 to 10 minute delay for the pick-up of Harrison students.  Parents and students should anticipate the same delay time for the afternoon drop-offs however, all Harrison student drop off times for Bus 7, and 16 shall not be affected.

Please keep in mind that these time frames are estimated as closely as we can at present and after the first week we should be settled into actual transportation time frames.

Principal's Message

Dear Colt Parents and Students,

Welcome to Silver High School and our many years of heritage and traditions.  We have entered the 2nd semester of the 2014-15 school year and will be continuing our positive momentum of promoting academic success and career and college readiness.  We are so proud of our upcoming Class of 2015 Colt graduates who have been accepted or are waiting acceptance at prestigious four-year universities such as UTEP, Stanford, Notre Dame, UNM and many other state universities, community colleges and vocational schools.   The collective expertise, enthusiasm, guidance, and discipline of our faculty and staff for our students will continue to prepare your child for their future.

As we progress through the second semester it is important that ALL students and parents are meeting with school counselors and/or administration in regards to meeting graduation requirements by checking on grades, credits and state assessments results.  This is just one way to make sure that we are all working together to make sure our students are learning, leading and growing towards the path of career and college readiness.

As a reminder, daily attendance is a critical component to student success and we encourage all of our families to make a commitment to attending school each and every day.

We hope the New Year and 2015 semester brings continued positive progress in all areas of academics and activities for all our Fighting Colts! Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting me at (575) 956-2158 or email me at blougee@silverschools.org.

                                 Sincerely,

                                 Mrs. Lougee, Principal
