Principal's Message

September has arrived and the school year is in full swing.  Silver High School halls and classrooms are filled with students eager to learn and paving their path towards graduation.

This year at Silver High School we have a stronger emphasis on college and career pathways with the expansion of course offerings and programs.  In order to build a strong foundation for all students to be able to learn and educate themselves in the possibilities that await them post high school we are now offering college and career readiness class.  This class offers students the opportunity to research, explore and see first hand different career options that meet their individual needs.

Students in grades 9-11 have completed the first series of Discovery Testing.  Students are assessed in math and ELA.  Students and teachers are reporting they feel that the students are doing very well on the assessments.  discovery testing is called short cycle testing and is used as a tool to gauge student progress in the areas of math and English.

The evening of October 8 from 4:00 to 7:30 and the morning of October 9 from 8:00 to 12:00 SHS will hold Parent/Teacher Conferences.  We hope this schedule accommodates your schedules and we can work together for the success of your high school student.

As always please feel free to come to SHS and see what is happening and visit with the administration and staff about your student(s)!  Together we can make a difference!

Until October,

Mrs. Lougee, SHS Principal
